In a previous post, I introduced the concept of sales funnels and how they can be a huge benefit when generating leads and  converting them into customers.   Today I’d like to take you through the actual  process.  To review for a minute, a sales funnel is a  process of exposing prospects to your goods and services that you provide. It is a 3 part process where by a person shows enough interest in your product or service to give you their name and email address. This is called a lead. How good this lead is will now depend on the next step. The funnel takes them through the next step to further qualify the interest of the lead. If your marketing contains enough value for the lead to continue down the funnel, they then will become a prospect. Lastly and ultimately, if the prospect sees value in your goods or services, they might just become a loyal customer.  This process can be broken down into 4 easy steps.  The purpose of the funnel is to gently guide your audience from one step to the next.  If done properly, at each step  you  gain more trust and then ultimately the lead is converted into a customer.

Step 1:  Create a capture page.  The best strategy here especially if you are targeting a cold market  of network marketers on  Facebook is to offer something of value for free in exchange for their contact information which is usually their email address, name and sometimes phone number.  A good example would be to offer a free report, or pdf outlining 10 tips for generating followers on Instagram.  When someone enters their information,  you have collected a lead.  Because you have collected their email, you can now start building a relationship with them.  They  are part of your email list  now and should then start receiving a series of pre-written emails from you full of your personality and filled with value. There are software programs out there that do help you to create capture pages. The system I use is outstanding and can be found in MLSP.

Step 2:  Once the lead has filled in his information, they will be taken to a welcome page.  If you are doing any kind of branding this is a good place to get your face and message out there.  Having a video  introducing yourself and welcoming them to the page will reassure the lead that they are in the right place.   This is a good opportunity to “pre-frame” or add a little more information about you and your products.   This page also serves to instruct the lead to the next step where they will receive their  free report of 10 tips on generating followers with Instagram.

Step 3:  The offer page.  It should be pretty obvious on the welcome page to click a button to continue to the offer page where they will receive their free report.  On this page should also be an offer for a low end product.  Typically the offer should be somewhere between $5-10.00.  This could be a trial offer of a product or service or maybe one module of a course that you offer.  Anyway the strategy here is that you are still developing trust with your lead so you don’t want to offer something that costs too much and low end offers do convert better.

Step 4:  Effective Followup.  I’m sure you have heard, the fortune is in the follow up.  And that is so true.  There are way too many opinions on the strategies for follow up but there is one consensus in that you do need a series of follow up emails.  These are best uploaded to an auto-responder like aweber or getresponse  The auto-responder  will collect the lead’s contact information and then send out an email at a scheduled time. You should have at least 5-30 emails written to be sent out daily.  And then after that you should send your list broadcast emails daily.  The emails are designed to continue to build rapport with your leads and also further educate your them.  The emails should have a mix of value and sales pitch.  A good ratio would be maybe 1 offer email to every four value emails.
